The Travelin' Show!

I went to The Travelin' Show tour last Wednesday at the iLounge in Pontiac. The tour features headlining band The Summer Set, and opening acts Austin Gibbs, The Downtown Fiction, Mod Sun, and Stereo Skyline. The show had such great vibes the whole way through.
The tour isn't over, andThe Travelin' Show hasn't come to your city yet, you really should go.

A Question With Kasey Smith!

I asked Kasey Smith of Romance On A Rocketship a question about his music video for Skin & Bones!

Q: May I ask where the lion came from?

A Question With ______

I am going to start doing posts called "A Question With ___"
Although, I'd love to do full interviews all the time, for now, I can't.
So I'll post this type of thing when I ask somebody one question.
Actually... I will be posting my first one in the next couple of minutes.
So stay tuned! :)

Music Video: I See Stars - The Common Hours

This show was so much fun!
Some of my friends are in this video, they're pretty stoked on it.
I actually hid from the cameras quite a bit...

Vans Warped Tour Pit Reporter!

I would love to be hired as Vans Warped Tour pit reporter. I think about it everyday. It would just be fantastic. I would go as far to say it's my dream. I want to have everything I do that's productive towards this dream documented in one place, i.e. this blog. However, to be their pit reporter you have to be 18 years of age, so I have some time before I become eligible. Sometimes I feel like when I tell people my age, they write me off. It's aggravating, considering how incredibly serious I am about all of this. Nothing  I can do but prove them wrong I guess. Anyways as I was saying, I have a while yet to go before I can even apply and it's good that I have time to prepare. And even if I am not pit reporter one day, this blog will be useful towards something. I'm confident in that.

(Really, how awesome would it be though?)

Alex Deleon: She Will Be Loved Cover

I have been slacking on blogging. I haven't been posting as much as I would like to. I have some things in the works for November, but October hasn't been the most eventful month. I'm going to work on that though!

On a side note, is this video not absolutely amazing? It's a Maroon 5 cover by the singer of The Cab, Alex Deleon. I have had it on repeat for most all of my day. Enjoy!

Interview: Lights Out!

It's Always A Party With The Lights Out!

Local pop-punk band Lights Out! is well on their way, with their new manager Devin Oliver of I See Stars, and bigger and bigger shows every weekend. If I were you, i'd make sure to get to one of those soon! They're shows are some of the most fun I've ever been to.

Two weeks ago, I interviewed Mike, who sings, writes, and plays guitar for LO, watch below!

Interview: SycAmour

if we're really being honest, I really don't spend as much time as I should checking out my local hardcore scene. SycAmour happens to be an exception. Although I liked them as soon as I heard them, seeing them live was way different. They're energy is insane. (Go to their shows!!!)
But, all of that aside, they were super nice to me when we did this interview last week! Watch above!

Interview: Alive In Standby

Alive In Standby is a local band that I heard about through Myspace.
They're incredible.
I'm not just saying that.
I strongly suggest you check them out.
BEFORE YOU DO,
Watch this interview I did with them earlier this week!

an introduction of some sort

A couple of months ago I made a decision, and right away I was sure.
I'm going to be a music journalist.

You would be surprised at just how many people want to do that as well. What sets me apart is that I'm not making it an option. There isn't anything to fall back on, there is no Plan B. This is what I'm going to do. I know things aren't as simple as that, but I'm going to make them that simple. I'm going to start now. Because in all honesty, I don't think I can really picture myself doing anything else. Music is the most dependable thing in my life, it pieces me together when things fall apart. Everytime. I've seen something like 60 bands, and I have the same feeling after every show. It doesn't matter who played, It's the same exact feeling. And I love it.

This blog is going to record my experience, and hopefully progress into something that somebody reads besides myself. I'm going to say exactly what I think, because I have no reason to do otherwise. I'm not going to put down anyone, because I woudn't feel comfortable with it. Who am I to say what music isn't good? I don't have that right. Nobody does. All music is music, everyone prefers something, but they should at least respect that all music is it's own. If you think this way, we should probably be friends. :)
